One more reason to love Agatha Christie

“We are all the same people as we were at three, six, ten or twenty years old. More noticeably so, perhaps, at six or seven, because we were not pretending so much then, whereas at twenty we put on a show of being someone else, of being in the mode of the moment…As life goes on, however, it becomes tiring to keep up the character you invented for yourself, and so you relapse into individuality and become more like yourself every day. This is sometimes disconcerting for those around you, but a great relief to the person concerned.”-Excerpted from “Agatha Christie – An Autobiography”

What’s the first reason?

And for that stargazing “some of us”, not looking where we’re going occasionally lands us face first in gutter muck ; )

Why do you think the Wright brothers invented the airplane lol. Sure gets you closer than a sidewalk!

When you’re through landing face-first in the gutter, take a look at my blogroll 🙂

    lol thanks! I love the roll-over too : )

I love that. Soooo true. You’re making me want to read Agatha Christie’s biography.

  6. Type Writer says:

I wanted to put “our Favourite Canadian” in the roll-over comment, but I didn’t want to potentially offend any of my friends who are Canadian 🙂

p.s. Did you ever hear about the time Agatha Christie disappeared while living in Egypt and never explained where she went off to?

  8. Cymbria says:

heehee haven’t you heard ; ) we Canadians are too ‘chill’ to be offended by such trivialities, but watch out if the Tampa Bay Lightnings try to mess with our Flames for the Stanley cup!

oooo and I did hear the legend. She makes a specific point of not mentioning it in her autobiography. She’s irresistible, a mystery till the end. And her books ain’t so bad either lol.

I would have thought there’d be enough Canadian players throughout the league to allow you to root for any team 🙂

There was a movie about Agatha’s disappearance in Egypt, and I think it was simply called “Agatha”. I believe the theory about her disappearance (and refusal to discuss it) was that she had a fling with an Egyptian man. Who knows? But her books are good, and I don’t know that I’ve ever figured out her mysteries ahead of time…
