In praise of ritual…

Vogue & brie topped blueberries for breakfast

Indulge yourself! Create a ritual around your favourites. On my latest trip back East, these three ingredients made my mornings magical: a bowl full of blueberries, a huge hunk of  brie cheese, and one mammoth September Vogue. Although I’m sure Anna Wintour would smack me upside the head for the size of that piece a’ cheese, I’ve always believed in maximizing the moment. Who says we can’t have it all! Well, at least on vacation~wink.

Blueberries and brie — yum! I could even imagine leafing through Vogue for a little while, since I’ll read just about anything. And I can almost hear the Parachute music in the background 🙂

p.s. How far east is East, Toronto?

Vogue’s only one step away from toenail painting lol, but anything for journalistic research, right? haha. This pic is from a jaunt to New Brunswick, but the brie is from a cheese factory in Quebec – making for a true Canadian moment… mmmm

Maybe Vogue reading really is only one step away from toenail painting, but trust me, it’s a very big step 🙂 As it turns out, last night I ate baked brie with my friend from Montreal. It was covered with blueberries, but I think I would have preferred the ensemble uncooked. But enjoy your vacation…

Whatever lets you sleep at night lol.

As for the brie… now you’re just making me jealous! Trust a Montrealer to have excellent taste : )

Oh, please, like you’d be sharing the baby-pink nail polish, anyway 🙂

Only with my hubby lol. Of course he’s always preferred a more masculine electric blue haha

Are you sure you’re supposed to mention that on the Internet? 🙂

…just one of the many dangers of being married to a blogger lol ; )

  9. […] While the gift of the Quebec cottage they built with their own hands will stay with the family (thank heavens!), their home, with all its comforting smells, sounds, collections, and textures, is being dismantled […]
